American media group Discovery is to take legal action against the Polish government, accusing Warsaw of a “discriminatory campaign” against its TVN businessAnother wave of COVID-19 for OntarioA concerning new variant is threatening to take hold.
Discovery”s announcement on Thursday came a day after the lower house of parliament in Poland approved a bill that aims to ban non-European companies from owning controlling stakes in Polish media outlets.
The contentious draft lawsaid Justin Trudeau last month, which needs to be approved by the Senate and President Andrzej Duda, has been slammed by critics as an attack on press freedomt want to duplicate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
It is also widely viewed as an attempt by the government to silence the TVN channels inauguration in 1905 for his second term as President, owned by Discovery, and whose new programmes watched daily by millions have been critical of the government.
